AHHH! I’m so excited to be starting my blog! This is going to be such a game changer for me as well as those who want to learn how to live an active, healthy lifestyle!
I am so excited to share some of my favorite home gym equipment because we all get busy, and we don’t always have time to make it to the gym.
For starters, because this applies to the most all people… STEPS. Getting your steps in is so important. Walking is the most underrated activity to help you reach your goals and stay active. So when someone asks if you’re hitting your 10k steps per day, they’re not wrong! However, not everybody’s goal is 10k, it may be 7k, 8k, 9k, and so on.
A lot of the time I work from home, so having a walking pad is SO NICE. Not only can I walk while I work, but it is small and compact enough to move around the house. I can put it infront of the tv, in the closet, under my desk, etc. This helps me hit my steps everyday especially when I can’t get outside for a walk because this New York weather isn’t always cooperative!
Another way I like to stay active is to get in a good workout at home if I can’t make it to the gym. Having a range of dumbbells to do at-home dumbbell only workouts is a GAME CHANGER. You CAN get a good workout in with dumbbells only. (I will also be posting some at home dumbbells workouts on my YouTube channel soon, so I will link that below. Please subscribe if you feel so inclined!) The dumbbell set i’m going to link is super compact, I have it set up in the corner of my office and its so cute! This could also easily fit in a closet, or just stay in a corner.
I also recommend getting a yoga mat or exercise mat for at-home workouts. This will make lying on the floor more comfortable as well as being on your hands and knees for certain exercises.
One of my most used items in my office/workout room/guest room is my foal roller. Rolling to warm up and activate my muscles as well as rolling out to cool them down and recover is a game changer for my workouts as a whole. This should be a staple in any workout routine.
Lastly, resistance bands. I could go on and on about how you CAN get a full body workout in with a single band. Resistance bands are so under utilized. For example, (upper body) I can do bicep curls, banded pull apart, tricep extensions, tricep push down, reverse fly, chest press, seated band row, bent over row, overhead press.. and the list goes on. This just goes to show that bands are SO versatile and they last for EVER (not literally but they last a VERY long time).
